7 Instagram-Worthy Places to Take Your Pet in Los Angeles

Instagram-worthy places

One of the best parts of living in Los Angeles is the sights. LA is home to great spots that represent some of the best art, nature, beauty and pop culture in the nation. And this makes for great Instagram feeds! Here are seven Instagram-worthy places to take your pet in Los Angeles!

Lake Hollywood Park

First on our list is the most iconic of the bunch. Lake Hollywood Park is perched smack underneath the Hollywood Sign, making it perfect for taking shots for your Instagram with your pet. The park also features a gorgeous view of downtown LA. Keep in mind that this area isn’t fenced in, so you’ll have to bring a leash for your pup. Lake Hollywood Park is open from sunrise to sunset and also features a children’s play area, picnic tables and barbecue pits.

Paul Smith’s Pink Wall

The pink wall at the Paul Smith store on Melrose is exactly what it sounds like: a building painted pink. That’s it. It’s just a pink building. But despite its simplicity, the pink wall has become one of the most sought after selfie spots in all of Los Angeles. And we do have to admit that it makes a great backdrop for photos.

Venice Beach Canals

The Venice Beach Canals are like a tiny slice of Italy in Los Angeles. The peaceful water and beautiful bridges make for easy strolling any time of day. We love taking our pets for walks here and particularly recommend taking pictures at sunset. The photo opportunities are endless!

Santa Monica Pier

Dogs aren’t allowed on Santa Monica State Beach but they are allowed on the Santa Monica Pier and boardwalks. Enjoy the nightlife and glowing lights of the carnival rides. This is another great location at sunset but the views are equally impressive at night when the roller coaster and ferris wheel light up. Since this area is crowded, be sure to keep your pup on a leash.

Colette Miller’s Global Angel Wings Project

Colette Miller started her Global Angel Wings Project in LA in 2012 as an effort to remind people that they’re “angels on earth.” The first wings showed up in Downtown LA in the Arts District and now you can find them elsewhere in West Hollywood, Mexico, Kenya, Australia and other parts of the United States.

Runyon Canyon

Runyon is the number one place to go hiking in Los Angeles for celebrities and regular folks alike. It has wonderful views of the LA Basin and Hollywood Sign. Feel free to bring your pets. They just need to stay on a leash, although there’s also a special off-leash area for dogs.

Urban Light at LACMA

Urban Light is an art installation at LACMA composed of 202 restored cast iron antique street lamps. It contains 309 light bulbs total. In fact, all the bulbs were converted to LEDs in 2018 thanks to the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. This reduced the installation’s annual energy consumption by a whopping 90%! We should also add that Urban Light is a great spot for the ‘gram so you should definitely swing by there with your pet.

Bonus: Mural Wall at Adopt & Shop!

Last but not least is our very own mural wall at Adopt & Shop Culver City. It’s picture perfect and painted just for photos of you and your four-legged friends. Stop by any time to take a snap. Just make sure to tag us @adoptnshop on Instagram!
